Area school systems

Horry County Schools is the third largest district in South Carolina. It serves over 32,000 students from nine attendance areas: Aynor, Carolina Forest, Conway, Green Sea Floyds, Loris, Myrtle Beach, North Myrtle Beach, Socastee, and St. James. The district consist of 45 schools: 24 elementary schools, nine middle schools, nine high schools, two career centers, and an alternative school.

Georgetown County Schools serves over 10,400 students from 5 attendance areas: Andrews, Georgetown, Hemmingway, Murrells Inlet, and Pawleys Island. The district consist of 17 schools: 9 elementary schools,4 middle schools, 4 high schools, and an Optional School.
